The club recently became member owned and has been setting up a new company and new financial systems.
The club has a very capable, long term accounting staff of one.
Under the prior ownership, the club did not engage an audit firm and the staff didn't perform certain of the normal financial functions of a member owned club.
The ideal person is a former club CFO or Controller who is no longer fully engaged in such a position.
This could be a combination of work from home and periodic calls and visits to the club.
-Responsibilities -Provide guidance on all financial matters related to the club -Manage production of monthly financial statements, including analysis of variances to budget.
-Ensure the books and records are maintained properly -Manage annual audit process -Manage filing of Form 990 -Monitor risks of unrelated business income limits -Establish a system of internal controls -Assist the board and General Manager on financial contracts -Establish financial policies including managing and preparation of the annual budget -Manage cash and monitor liquidity Job Type:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
